Post 304 (Local)

North Cobb American Legion Post 304 was founded in 1991 here in Georgia to serve the communities in the cities of Acworth and Kennesaw. With over 300 members and growing, Post 304 is known around the state as “The Little Post That Could” as this post has consistently accomplished its mission with so little compared to other posts. Our members have served in various campaigns ranging from the Battle of the Bulge to more recent conflicts such as the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns.

For years, our post has dreamed of having a post home, a building to meet and work from in order to grow and expand our mission. In the past, most of our meetings were held at the Georgia National Guard Armory on McCullom Pkwy in Kennesaw.

Our dream of a post home became a reality in 2012, when a local philanthropist and Korean War Veteran, Hervey Ross, purchased and donated a building and the property it resides on. The location of the property is on South Main Street in Acworth. Mr. Ross’ gracious donation was made free and clear to North Cobb American Legion Post 304.

Currently, Post 304 members are hard at work with the task at hand in planning the renovation of the building and property along with continuing our mission to serve the Veterans and youth of North Cobb. “The Little Post That Could” presses on!
