The American Legion School Award

The American Legion School Award is presented annually to a high school senior who is selected by the school staff with the following objectives in mind:

I.Place emphasis on the development of the qualities of COURAGE, HONOR, LEADERSHIP, PATRIOTISM, SCHOLARSHIP and SERVICE.

II.Develop those ideals of Americanism among young people which will make them citizens of the highest type.

III.Give recognition through the award of American Legion School Award Medals to the boy and to the girl who are deemed most worthy of the high qualities of citizenship and of true Americanism.

The Award consists of a beautiful bronze 3.5” medallion with easel stand and an official Certificate denoting the Award and is usually presented by a Post 304 official at the school’s annual Awards or Honors Program.
